How We Exercise Environmental Consciousness

"Every mickle mek a muckle". A popular Jamaican  proverb which essentially means "small things when combined one by one can have a big effect".

Ashley Laird Designs strongly believes in each person playing his part to help balance the health and beauty of Mother Earth with the advancement of human kind. With this in mind, we make a conscious effort to continuously be environmentally conscious, no matter how small our contribution may be.  Our daily practices include:

• Ensuring our work area has ample natural light, thereby reducing the need for the use of electricity.
• Utilizing LED lighting.
• Establishing a work flow system which allows us to be more efficient with processes, thereby reducing waste of resources.
• Keeping machines turned off when not in use.
• Doing all non-electric set up on machines before turning them on.
• Creating products that are more environmentally friendly. Did you know that the containers for our Luxury Scented Candles are meant to be reused after the candle is finished? Learn more about reusing the decorative containers.
• Reusing packing materials when possible.
• Eliminating plastic where possible. Where plastic is needed we use more environmentally friendly options
• Repurposing furniture to create our studio and store furniture pieces where possible.
• Utilizing paperless billing options where possible.
• Printing only essential documents.
• Employing the use of power strips.
• Utilizing cloud technology.
• Conserving water.
• Using green cleaning products.
• Supporting local vendors.
